West End Wreaths was named for a summer retreat in Grassy Creek, NC, the West End Cottage (pictured below), our company seeks to share a piece of that peaceful place where the summer forest hums with crickets, and June bugs, and deer, turkeys and other wild game are visible year round.

The Grove

Owner/Manager Scott Ballard has his master's degree in Education and develops and teaches online and face-to-face college courses such as Whole Brain Learning (with his wife Beckie), Innovative Testing Tools and Professional Learning Communities (with Jami Guercia) and Accelerated Learning. In the off-season Scott also paints (oil) and has had paintings accepted into juried shows. His paintings can be viewed at the West End barn, and the West Jefferson Coffee House, located in the West Jefferson Arts District. Thumb-nailed paintings below (left to right) Helton Footbridge (accepted into "Best of the Blue Ridge" show 2007) (sold), Helton Cabin (accepted into the "Art of Aging" show 2007), French Pressed, Java Man, Downtown WJ (second row) Cumberland Gap Iron Furnace (accepted into the Best of the Blue Ridge show 2009 and subsquently donated to the National Park Service), Cam going up stairs (private collection), Jim and Cindy's House in Fishers, Indiana (private collection) and The Middlesborough Hotel.

Below the paintings are two 2x4 foot mosaic projects from Scott...a walnut tree and the Grove cabin near the New River.
